SkyStream, a Sunnyvale, Calif., a company specializing in IP video delivery, announced that it now has 20 MPEG-4 AVC customers worldwide for its Mediaplex and iPlex video headend systems.
Within 19 months of entering the IPTV market, Skystream secured 35 U.S. telco customers for Mediaplex and iPlex, said SkyStream President and CEO Jim Olson. The company tripled its advanced codec business over the previous month, propelling it into profitability in Q2, which ended June 30, 2005. SkyStream reported net income of 9 percent from quarterly revenues.
