Sharp unveils 108in prototype LCD TV at CES 2007

The bar was raised on LCD TV size at the 2007 International CES show in Las Vegas last week when Sharp showed a prototype 108in LCD TV, which it claims is the world's largest.

The 108in LCD screen measures about 94in wide by about 53in high. To place that in context, Sharp rolled out a 45in model in 2004 and a 65in model in 2005. The prototype uses a Black Advanced Super View Full-Spec HD LCD panel manufactured at Sharp's Kameyama, Japan, Plant No. 2, the first plant in the world to use eighth-generation glass substrates, according to the company.
