Sennheiser Engineer Improving in Las Vegas Hospital

An engineer for Sennheiser who was hurt in a hit-and-run accident during the NAB convention is recovering and is now off of life support systems, a company spokeswoman told RW Online.

Volker Schmitt, senior engineer for Sennheiser Electronics Corp. in Connecticut, had been in critical condition after the accident on Flamingo Boulevard in Las Vegas in April. Police later made an arrest in the case.

The company's Dawn Birr said Schmitt "has been moved from the intensive care unit to the intermediate unit, and just got to see his little boy last week. He's talking and has no memory of the accident. There's some intensive orthopaedic rehab in his future, but he's going to make it just fine."
