QSC rocks the Hilton Anaheim lobby at NAMM

For the attendees that flood the Anaheim Convention Center each year at NAMM, both business and diversionary opportunities may be found within the facility's halls, but everyone knows the real action is next door in the Hilton Anaheim lobby. That's where everyone can elbow-in and listen to bands performing in an almost circus-like musical environment fueled by some of the latest audio gear the world has to offer.

For the 2009 show, the Hilton lobby was completely refurbished, eliminating the fountains that competed with the performers. One thing, however, did not change: QSC returned to provide sound for both the lobby stages. Now configured at opposite ends of the floor plan, the stages were outfitted with house rigs of ground-stacked QSC WideLine-8 arrays comprised of five WL3082 enclosures atop a pair of WL212-sw subs and a single GP218-sw per side.

The arrays were processed and networked by BASIS components running QSC's QSControl software and powered by model PL380 amplifiers. Onstage, a full complement of the company’s new CSM monitors also relying on BASIS processing and PL380 amps joined a contingent of HPR loudspeakers serving in an auxiliary capacity to put sound in front of bands like Starving for Gravity, The Happy Problem, Val Grant, Rock Nation and Psycho Bud.
