The OpenTV Integrated Browser has been tapped as a validation platform on Windows XP for content providers of TV Portal Service Corp. (TVPS) acTVila.
acTVila launched in February 2007 as a common TV portal for interactive television in Japan. It is available on digital TVs from Matsushita, Sony, Sharp, JVC, Eizo, and Funai; other manufacturers are expected to release acTVila-compliant TVs in 2007 to 2008.
The OpenTV Integrated Browser meets the specifications set by the Networked Digital Television consortium, creating a standard browser development platform that can be used to create and validate content. It was developed for Windows for accessibility and ease of use.
