NSCA, InfoComm to consolidate trade shows

The two leading trade associations serving the pro A/V installation industry, InfoComm International and the National Systems Contractor Association (NSCA), will consolidate their annual trade shows and cooperate in the staging of other events. As part of this consolidation, the 2008 NSCA Systems Integration Expo will now become part of the InfoComm trade show. The show will alternate between Las Vegas and Orlando for the next six years, with the 2008 show scheduled for June 18-20 in Nevada.

Previously, the two shows, combined with other events such as NAB and MusicMesse, helped to create a very tight schedule of events during the first half of the year. Industry reaction to this “show within a show” approach has been immediate, strong and positive, according to both organizations, particularly among manufacturers. To accommodate the 140 NSCA exhibitors not currently participating in InfoComm, there will be a new NSCA pavilion, likely located near the audio pavilion.

The two associations themselves will continue as separate, independent entities, with separate missions and certification programs. Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
