News-Press & Gazette Selects Sundance Digital Automation

Sundance Digital announced that News-Press & Gazette, a private, family owned communications company based in St. Joseph, Missouri, has chosen Sundance Digital as the automation vendor for a number of its television stations. They will supply FastBreak NXT packages to automate News-Press Gazette's spot insertion, program playout, and satellite recording processes, as well as offering the organization an upgrade path to a Titan based solution in the future.

“Sundance Digital offers the most practical and economical approach to reaching our ultimate goal of establishing an efficient model for our group of stations,” said Jim DeChant, director of technical operations for News-Press & Gazette. “Their ability to start out with basic automation and provide an easy upgrade is very attractive.”

KVIA-TV, the ABC affiliate for El Paso, Texas will receive the first Sundance Digital system with an on-air date scheduled for September 1, 2006. KTVZ in Bend, Oregon, and KECY-TV in Yuma, Arizona will follow later this year.

News-Press & Gazette’s FastBreak NXT automation packages will include Intelli-Sat to manage satellite feed recording and ListSync redundancy. FastBreak NXT blends the latest in Windows shortcuts and navigation techniques into a highly customizable, automation-centric framework to provide a cost-effective package for individual stations operating one to several channels in their facility.
