NBC, Microsoft Tie Up Includes Zune, Xbox Offerings

Beyond its extensive use of Silverlight technology to power NBCOlympics.com and “NBC Olympics on the Go” for Windows Media Center users, the collaboration between Microsoft and NBC Universal is extending to other Microsoft platforms.

Xbox users can access a daily wrap up of each day’s events from NBC Sports, and the Zune Marketplace will offer daily video reports from NBC Sports, as well as highlights from the opening and closing ceremonies, “best of” and “best match” replays and a post-Games wrap up.

Both the Xbox and Zune offerings will be fee-based, costing from 80 to 160 Microsoft Points per episode. (The Zune and Xbox Marketplaces use a Microsoft-devised electronic currency; 80 Microsoft Points are equal to $1.)
