Lyon Video Chooses QuStream Equipment For New HD Mobile Truck

Lyon Video has decided on QuStream products for its latest HD mobile broadcast production truck. The new truck, a 53-foot model, will feature Cheetah 288 x 576 routers and the UDC Up/Down/Cross Converter, both new additions to QuStream’s product line.

“We evaluated the top routing manufacturers in the market and found the QuStream equipment to be the most advanced and flexible for our needs,” said Robert Lyon, president of Lyon Video. “QuStream has proven to be the leading supplier of routing, control, and processing in the mobile production market and we are excited to use their equipment in this new truck.”

Also included in the truck are QuStream’s internal fiber I/O cards to tie two video frames together via fiber lines, which reduces the overall weight of the unit. The Cheetah 288 x 576 provides a large number of outputs for big monitor walls or to feed a numerous devices at the same time, and all in 18 RU. The router uses standard BNC connectors, internal redundant power, and can mix fiber, copper and CWDM fiber all in the same frame.

“We are pleased that Lyon Video chose QuStream to equip its new mobile production truck,” said Bob McAlpine, vice president of sales and marketing communications. “Because of our versatile and reliable solutions, QuStream high definition video and audio systems continue to be the choice for mobile applications.”

The UDC Up/Down/Cross Converter provides SDI and NTSC outputs with built-in Perfect Palette Legalizer, color corrector and optional Audio Synchronization and Processing.
