LG has unveiled a new entrant into the 1080p liquid-crystal-on-silicon-powered HDTV arena. It recently introduced its line of rear projection sets based on an LCoS microdisplay from SpatiaLight Dec. 20 at Australian retail stores.
SpatiaLight began delivery of its LCoS imagers intended for mass production of high-definition televisions to LG on November 7. Deliveries are expected to continue weekly throughout the agreed upon initial six-month term.
LG’s initial LCoS high-definition television product launch will be in Australia, the United States and South Korean markets.
