Leitch Offers New VelocityHD 9.1 Interface

At NAB last week, Leitch introduced its new VelocityHD 9.1 with native HDV support and variable frame rates for content shot with Panasonic's VariCam HD camera. The company also showed a new line of products based on technology it acquired from Inscriber, including the Inca Studio HD--a real-time, multi-layer live production HD graphics system.

Like a surprising number of other HD product at this year's show that was targeted to local-station news coverage, the new Leitch system enables multiple channel effects on a single channel for live events and/or special news coverage. Stillstore, character generator and clip-player functions in a single box were being demonstrated on the show floor via the company's new central graphics solution, Inca AutoCG HD. The company also demonstrated Nexio HD, its new products and systems family for video servers.
