KLCS Selects Leitch For DTV Transition

(December 10, 2003) Toronto--Los Angeles-based PBS member station KLCS has selected a wide array of Leitch products for its continuing migration to a fully digital facility. KLCS purchased Leitch's NEO SuiteView multi-source display processor; Integrator GOLD SDI router; Opus master control switcher, and a variety of Leitch digital video equipment, including the DPS-575AV digital processing synchronizer, 6800+ video and audio conversion system, 880 series stereo audio DAs, digital clocks, and the NEO modular infrastructure platform. The equipment will be under the control of Leitch's CCS Pilot and CCS Navigator software applications.

KLCS began transmitting a digital television signal in addition to its current analog signal in April 2003, enabling such services as datacasting/near video on demand, multi-channel broadcasts and high definition television.

"We are pleased to be working with KLCS on this project, and we are confident the station will realize significant efficiency improvements from the operational ease of our infrastructure and our exceptional post sales support," said Robert Seufferheld, Leitch's vice president of sales, Americas. "The selection of Leitch for this major facility upgrade underscores the broad capabilities and interoperability of our product portfolio, as well as our company's solid reputation within the broadcast market."
