Kearney to Head CEA Tech Policy Group

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has hired Julie Kearney as the new Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs. Kearney will represent CEA before the FCC and other government bodies on issues such as digital audio broadcasting, HDTV, digital rights management and satellite. She will also be responsible for increasing CEA's international policy activities.

Previously, Kearny served as Associate Counsel In MCI's International Affairs group where she represented MCI's business and policy interests before the State and Commerce departments and the FCC.

She is actively involved in the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) and serves as co-chair of its International Telecommunications Committee.

Kearney earned a J.D. from Catholic University's Columbus School of Law and received a certificate from its Institute for Communications Law Studies. She is a member of the Virginia and Washington, D.C. Bars.
