The Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) has begun preparing for its annual Technology Retreat with a call for presentations and Breakfast Roundtable topics and moderators.
The organization is seeking main program presentations that are based on technologies found in any area of motion image, audio and related fields. These could include broadcast and cinema content storage, image processing, distribution, test and measurement, workflow, history, law and regulation, mobile video, Internet and similar topics. The HPA advises that presentations may be individual or joint efforts, panels, or tutorials. Marketing and sales pitches are discouraged. Presentations usually run 30 minutes, including set up time and period for questions.
The group says that formal proposals are not required; a one or two line synopsis is sufficient.
Deadline for main program presentation proposals has been set for Oct. 23. Additional information is available on the HPA Web site, www.hpaonline.com.
The retreat itself is scheduled for Feb. 16-19 in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
