High School Sports Technology Alliance Formed

WHEELING, W.V.: Gannett-owned HighSchoolSports.net is teaming with two likewise school sports media companies to standardize the technology used for producing and distributing high school sports clips. The new High School Sports Technology Alliance also includes PrepAthlete.com, a Minnesota-based online video library; CoachComm, an Auburn, Ala. intercom maker; and GamePlan Technologies, a video analysis concern in Omaha, Neb.

“What’s been missing has been a common platform for high school sports video and a safe place for our children to view it,” said Adolph Santorine, the president of HighSchoolSports.net. “We believe that our working together is the solution.”

Members of the alliance collectively work with more than 16,000 high schools, as well as nearly every football coach in the nation. Programs initially will have access to more than 2 million still images and nearly 100,000 video highlights, including nearly 30,000 videos of entire games.
