Cable and Satellite International awarded "Product of the Year" to Harris Broadcast Communications Division (BCD) for its new DVB-T Liquid Cooled Output Filter 5kW/UHF at its annual awards ceremony.
The output filter cools the heat that builds within the filter housing during operation and uses the DVB-T transmitter's existing liquid cooling system to disperse the head build-up from filter operation. In addition, the filter is adjustable within the entire UHF range of frequencies and operators can tune the filter to the new frequency without further capital expense, according to the company.
Dale Mowry, vice president and general manager for BCD's television broadcast systems business unit said the filter is gaining momentum in the marketplace as broadcasts recognize the that the product will yield significant energy savings.
