Game Creek Video produces college football’s premiere bowl games

Veteran mobile production company Game Creek Video, based in Hudson, NH, used the new Grass Valley Kayenne video production center switcher and more than a dozen Sony HDC 1500 HD cameras (with Canon HD lenses) for the complex production of college football’s 96th annual Rose Bowl telecast in HDTV on ABC live from Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA, Jan. 1.

On-site in Pasadena, Game Creek operated its Liberty HD truck (and a “B” unit), which has a newly installed Grass Valley Kayenne switcher, for ESPN/ABC’s HD production of the Rose Bowl. Another Game Creek truck, Intrepid A (with a complementary “B” unit) was also on hand and has a Grass Valley Kalypso switcher and Sony HDC 1500 HD cameras onboard. It was used daily throughout the week leading up to the big game for ESPN’s “Game Day” show.

Both trucks also feature EVS servers, Fortel HD frame synchronizers and converters, PESA video and audio routing switchers and Calrec digital audio mixing consoles.

After the Rose Bowl, Intrepid continued to produce daily shows for ESPN “Game Day,” and then Liberty and Intrepid were both used again for the broadcast of the BCS Championship Jan. 7, which was also televised on ABC. The game featured the No. 2 BCS-ranked Texas Longhorns versus the No. 1 BCS-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

Game Creek’s Liberty truck also provided on-site HD facilities, including the Grass Valley Kayenne switcher and Sony cameras, for the HD telecast of the 2009 Big 12 Conference Championship, live from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington Texas, Dec. 5.
