Gallaudet University Adds Ross Production Switcher

As part of television production facility renovation program, Washington, D.C.’s Gallaudet University—a federally chartered liberal arts college for the deaf and hard-of-hearing—has installed a Ross Video Vision 2 Multidefinition production switcher.

The new switcher provides high-definition capability and is a key part of the school’s television production facility.

“The Vision 2 QMD’s flexibility and power of its integrated systems was key in our decision to go with Ross,” said Patrick Harris, Gallaudet’s senior video systems administrator of academic technology. “It now stands as the centre piece of a fully digital studio production system living within a larger analog / digital hybrid facility.”

Gallaudet has an installed base of RossGear conversion and distribution equipment and has also purchased a Ross Video Crossover switcher. Plans call for the Crossover to be installed in one of the school’s smaller video facilities and used for student projects and for academic purposes.
