WASHINGTON: FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein announced staff changes today. Renée Roland Crittendon, formerly legal advisor on spectrum, international and public safety issues, will assume the role of chief of staff.
Crittendon has been a legal advisor since June of 2007. She is also handling broadband issues, and issues related to economic stimulus bill in which the FCC is directed to create a national broadband plan. Before joining Adelstein’s staff, she held several positions in the wireless and wireless bureaus. Before joining the commission, Crittendon was a deputy chief counsel for Prism Communications. She received her law degree from the George Washington University National Law Center and a received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Georgetown University.
Adelstein also detailed Mark Stone to his office as legal advisor for wireline issues. Stone has worked at the commission since 1994, most recently as deputy managing director. He started an auditor and staff attorney in the cccounting safeguards division of the wireline bureau, and he later served as deputy chief of the enforcement bureau’s telecommunications consumers division. Prior to joining the FCC,. Stone worked for the GSA Office of Inspector General.
Stone received a B.B.A. in Accounting from James Madison University and a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.
