Commission extends deadline for inquiry on analog TV shutdown

The deadline for public comments on an inquiry concerning the effects of an analog TV shutdown on households that depend on over-the-air TV service has been extended by 30 days.

The NAB made the request for a 60-day extension, claiming it needed the added time to conduct research studios and to prepare comments on several issues posed by the FCC. The commission’s media bureau, however, granted 30 days instead.

The Public Notice originally called for the filing of comments on July 12, and the filing of reply comments on August 5. The new dates are now August 11 for comments and Sept. 7 for reply comments.
