Calrec Audio and Riedel Communications announced at the recent NAB Show that the companies had been working together to integrate Riedel's Artist intercom functionality in Calrec's Apollo digital audio mixing console and also Calrec's Hydra2 audio routing network in Riedel's MediorNet fiber network system.

The blended technology allows the console's control surface to show the Artist intercom control panel on fader control cells. The Artist functionality is available at any location on the console. The MediorNet functionality provides integration of multichannel HD video, audio, intercom and data signals on a single fiber optic network.

"Although the Apollo console and the new Hydra2 core already provide extensive audio networking, the integration into MediorNet expands the possibilities even more," said Henry Goodman, Calrec's business development manager. "To provide maximum benefit for our customers it was a logical step to cooperate with Riedel."
