Burst Designs And Builds The Video Production System For The Big Screen Display At Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

Burst, which designs, engineers and installs creative, integrated systems for video, broadcast technologies, recently completed the design and build of the big screen at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.

The park, home to Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids, is the largest soccer sports complex in the world, with 24 full-sized lighted outdoor fields and an 18,000-seat outdoor stadium.

Burst worked with Kroenke Sports Enterprises—which owns and operates the park—plus Turner Construction and Empowercom Inc. on the design and installation.

“Burst is happy to have had the opportunity to work with Kroenke Sports in designing and building an effective, functional, reliable video production system for a state of the art MLS stadium,” says Doug Houston, VP of systems integration. “We are confident in our abilities to provide a system that meets the operational capabilities of one or more operators and will meet the demands of today and the eventual growth of tomorrow.”

Burst’s project creates a flexible system suitable for events of varying sizes.

“We were pleased that Burst came forward and created a design on such a short timeline that is flexible and functional. Burst has been exceptional in dealing with the accelerated time issues,” says Alan Schroeder, manager of arena technology at Denver’s Pepsi Center. Schroeder is also responsible for technology at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
