Atlantic Video Installs a Quantel Pablo HD

Atlantic Video, a production and post production house in Washington, D.C., recently installed a color correction system from Quantel, according to the vendor.

Pat Nagy, director of post-production services at Atlantic, said color correction was one of the areas where the facility needed an updgrade to be more attractive to big local content generators National Geographic Channel and Discovery. He said the Quantel Pablo HD was distinctive in that it allowed a user to see color correction in real time.

Pablo HD has a built-in editing, effects and versioning toolset that makes last-minute changes easier. The nonlinear HD color corrector was introduced at IBC 2006. An HD-RGB model is available in addition to 2K and 4K systems.

Atlantic Video supports a technical team of 100 people in a $20 million, 53,000-square-foot facility in downtown Washington, D.C. The facility is frequently tapped for locally produced programs.
