>Chris Ender has been promoted to senior vice president of communications at CBS. He will oversee publicity and communications functions for all of CBS’s West Coast programming divisions, including CBS Entertainment, UPN, and King World.

>EchoStar’s president and chief operating officer, Michael Dugan, has retired. He will join the board of directors and serve as a senior advisor. Dugan, who has been with the company for 14 years, will accelerate efforts to make his Whistling Elk guest ranch in northern Colorado available to disadvantaged children.

>Katz Direct Marketing, a division of the Katz Television Group (KTVG), has made several promotions. Ben Buchwald has been named vice president, general sales manager. Steve Diamond has been named direct response sales manager. Jessica Ronayne has been promoted to office manager.

>Broadcast Text International has appointed Oliver de Courson vice president of sales and marketing. Based in the Broadcast Text Santa Monica, CA, offices, de Courson will represent the global subtitling, dubbing and localization company to the home entertainment and broadcast industry throughout the U.S.

>Gepco International has appointed Michael Pollaccio, founder of Audio Video Technical, northeast sales representative for wire and cable. In this role, he will be responsible for facilitating the specification of Gepco cables to broadcasters, systems integrators, and consultants, and for overseeing sales in the northeastern U.S.

>Harman Pro North America (HPNA) has appointed Dan Lynch to serve as an applications engineer and product specialist for BSS Audio USA. Lynch is based in Denver, CO, and will be sharing the duties of his new role with Will Fraser, who joined the company last December. Both individuals will be handling BSS Audio’s telephone and on-site support, conducting product trainings, and performing other related tasks.

>Leitch has appointed Stephen Wong vice president of Asia-Pacific operations. In his new position he will continue the company’s expansion throughout the Asia-Pacific territories. Previously, Wong was vice president, Pacific Region, for Thomson’s Broadcast & Media Solutions division.

>Net Insight has hired Steven East as its global sales manager. East will help identify and introduce key accounts and will also work closely with Net Insight’s management and sales team to secure strategic partnerships.

>Sennheiser Electronic Corporation (SEC) has appointed Brigitte Frank as the marketing communications manager. She will oversee all marketing communications-related activities for SEC. This includes the execution of marketing plans for all business channels, distributed brands, and telecommunications.

>SignaSys has appointed Jeff Wolter as director of sales. He accepts his new role after nearly two years with SignaSys as western region systems sales manager. Wolter’s career in sales management began with non-technology companies, including Phoenix Technologies Environmental Services and Random Snowboards. In 1999 he parlayed his experience into the television technology industry with Media Site and later with Convera, an Intel-backed media management software company.

>TANDBERG Television has hired Matthew Goldman as director of technology. He will help develop system solutions for customers throughout the Americas as the company expands its presence from Canada to Argentina. Sandra Giorgini has also joined the company as western regional sales manager. Gene Price has come on board as broadband account manager, eastern region, and Terry Allison has been promoted to regional sales manager for Canada.

>Telestream has announced several new hires. David Heppe was promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing to expand the company’s worldwide sales network. Anna Greco has joined as director of product marketing and business development. She will be responsible for the ClipMail and FlipFactory product lines. George Boath has been hired as regional manager for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Service Providers
Adlink, an interconnect, has tapped Jeff Weiss as director of account planning. He is charged with overseeing sales and marketing initiatives for Adlink on the client level. Most recently, Weiss served as sales manager for the New York Telemundo affiliate WNJU.

>Rebecca Ramsey has joined STEELE VFX as executive producer. She will supervise the company’s production team, oversee in-house production, and manage bidding. She will also assist in new business development.
