Axia Audio Announces Applications Paper for Broadcasters

Axia Audio, the originators of IP-Audio for broadcast, has announced a new applications paper for broadcasters entitled “IP-Audio: It’s Not Just For Consoles Anymore”, written by Axia vice president Martin Sacks.

“When I joined Axia and began visiting our clients, I was amazed to find that nearly every station I visited had found new and interesting ways of using IP-Audio to address operational problems that, with older technology, had been difficult to solve,” relates Sacks. “In fact, Axia users had so many good ideas that I thought others might enjoy hearing about them, too.”

Sacks’ eight-page white paper discusses some of the new ways that broadcasters are using IP-Audio, including uncompressed Ethernet STL applications, audio transmission via fiber between nonadjacent buildings, using Ethernet to turn any PC into an audio monitoring station, and highly scalable, redundant routing switcher applications.

“I know that as more and more broadcasters switch to IP-Audio, people will find even more unique ways to use it,” says Sacks. “And I look forward to hearing them! Readers who send ideas my way might find themselves in the next edition,” he adds. Marty can be reached at +1-216-241-7225, or via email at marty@AxiaAudio.com.
