OpenFabrics Alliance to host interoperability event for InfiniBand, iWARP products

The OpenFabrics Alliance (OFA) has announced that it is hosting the fourth OpenFabrics Interoperability Event Oct. 4-12 at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL) in Durham, NH.

The event will provide OFA members with a venue to validate their products' ability to interoperate with each other using the OpenFabrics software stack in InfiniBand and/or iWARP network environments. Products that complete the testing successfully will be eligible for the OFA-UNH-IOL interoperability logo.

Participating companies will test their network equipment in a cluster of eight servers running the OpenFabrics software stack and Linux and Windows operating systems. The equipment to be tested includes InfiniBand host channel adapters (HCAs), switches and gateways and InfiniBand-based storage targets, as well as iWARP-enabled network interface cards and 10GigE switches. The testing will include iWARP-only, InfiniBand-only and transport-independent protocols and middleware. The latest OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED) software and other driver and protocol-layer software from OpenFabrics will be used in server nodes to test interoperability with switches, gateways and storage targets.
