NAB names new president and CEO

National Beer Wholesalers Association President David K. Rehr has been selected as the new president and chief executive officer of the NAB.

Rehr, 46, was signed to a multi-year agreement and will assume the NAB leadership post Dec 5. His selection comes after a high-level executive search process was launched last February after current NAB President and CEO Eddie Fritts announced plans to step down. Fritts will remain an NAB consultant until April 2008.

Some 80 potential candidates were considered in the search for Fritts' successor. Rehr's selection comes with the endorsement of an NAB Presidential Search Committee chaired by Philip Lombardo, CEO of Citadel Communications, and David Kennedy, president and CEO, of Susquehanna Media.

With more than 20 years of experience on Capitol Hill and in the lobbying community, Rehr has been an outspoken advocate for entrepreneurs and small businesses. He has a doctorate in economics from George Mason University, was named a "Top Association Lobbyist" by The Hill multiple times, and has been featured in Beachum's Guide to Key Lobbyists.
