Kraft Sports Productions deploys digital post workflow

Kraft Sports Productions, the production company for the New England Patriots and other Kraft family businesses, has deployed a new digital post-production workflow to produce programs including “Patriots: All Access,” a weekly series broadcast on ABC-affiliate WCVB-TV in Boston.
The workflow centers on the Avid Unity MediaNetwork shared-storage system and connects an Avid AirSpeed system for ingesting media with Avid Xpress Pro and Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems for video editing and finishing.
Kraft uses thousands of hours of footage from some of the team’s most exciting games to produce these programs that highlight the teamwork behind the New England Patriots organization. The new digital production workflow cuts production cycles and allows producers to invest more creative time on the shows.
With footage and clips stored on the Avid Unity MediaNetwork system, producers take advantage of a shared-media environment, allowing multiple editors in different locations to work simultaneously in real-time. This new environment eliminates the need to shuttle hundreds of tapes back and forth to users, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing the time it takes to complete projects.
