Indian broadcaster selects Front Porch Digital for archiving

Amrita Television in India has purchased its Distributed Intelligent Versatile Archive (DIVArchive) digital video archive from Front Porch Digital for its broadcast programming service. The deal was made through Shaf Broadcast, a system integrator and prime contractor for Amrita’s facilities.

Located in the Indian state of Kerala, Amrita Television is an entertainment television broadcast company and a wholly owned division of the Amrita Enterprises Private Limited. Amrita TV was launched on April 14, 2005, and currently broadcasts a varied lineup including movies, series, dance, music and talk programs. It also broadcasts across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, Australia, Canada and the United States.

DIVArchive is middleware that enables interoperability between large digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems and digital media workflow applications in the broadcast, media and entertainment industries. DIVArchive simplifies the process of preserving, managing and accessing content.
