HDNet delivered the Republican National Convention from New York City in high definition with coverage of speeches by several prominent party leaders, including former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, First Lady Laura Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Lynne Cheney, and President George W. Bush.
The coverage from New York complemented HDNet’s HD convention reporting, which began with the Democratic National Convention in Boston.
The all-HD network made gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Republican event available to MSOs and satellite providers wishing to deliver HD convention coverage to their subscribers. Thirteen HD cameras were used for the uninterrupted feed.
The High-Definition National News Consortium coordinated the HDTV pool coverage produced in native 1080i.
