WJZ-TV Taps AccuWeather for HD Weather Graphics

CBS O&O WJZ-TV Channel 13 in Baltimore has selected AccuWeather’s CinemaLive HD display system to produce its weather segments.

CinemaLive HD was selected for its features, forecasting tools, Microsoft Virtual Earth integration and speed, combined with the ability to produce 3D graphics in a realistic 360-degree environment, according to the company. It combines the 3D graphics with virtual sets, custom-built landscapes and specially designed HD weather elements.

“We are extremely pleased that WJZ-TV chose CinemaLive HD to be a part of their enduring quest to deliver remarkable, compelling content to their audience,” stated Ryan Ayres, director of TV Operations for AccuWeather. “It is an honor to be associated with such a prominent station and accomplished weather team.”

CinemaLive HD offers a live-on-every-layer architecture in conjunction with integrated data to produce network-quality segments. In addition to producing on-air weather content, WJZ-TV also utilizes CinemaLive HD to deliver forecasts, features and video to their Web site.
