Wiley assumes NAB government relations post

Douglas Wiley took up his new post this week as Executive Vice President of Government Relations at the National Association of Broadcasters.

Wiley joins the NAB from the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA). At the EIA, he was Senior Vice President of Government Relations under Congressman Dave McCurdy, former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. As leader of the EIA's public policy team, he forged legislative strategies to consolidate support of the high-tech industry on Capitol Hill on both sides of the aisle.

Wiley becomes the NAB’s most senior executive responsible for representing the broadcasting industry before Congress and the Bush administration and will lead the association’s government relations team.

Before joining the EIA in 2003, Wiley was Director of Government Relations for Alcatel in Washington, DC, where he was a founding member of the High Tech Broadband Coalition. His work to deregulate broadband helped spark a revolution in telecommunications.
