In response to growing sales of HDTV equipment, Thomson demonstrated a set-top RCA HDTV receiver, model DTC210, that delivers HDTV programming from DirecTV, and over-the-air digital and analog broadcasts. Consumers are expected to buy over four million HDTV products this year. The DTC210 features DirecTV Advanced Program Guide, with seven-day listings of both terrestrial and DirecTV satellite programming. Program searches are facilitated by a guide-surfing function, and its video window enables viewers to continue watching a program while surfing through listings. It also incorporates a secure DVI-HDTV output with HDCP copy protection technology.
