Telestream is offering additional transcoding capability within the company's Episode and FlipFactory products.
Version 5.1 of FlipFactory provides users of the media and metadata conversion and transfer application with enhanced metadata capabilities. The new MetaFlip technology provides the ability to transform video file metadata for submission to cable VOD providers and content aggregators such as iTunes. The new product release also provides additional MSX and HD support as well as accommodating AMR audio in 3GP files. Further, a monitoring function has been added for use in connection with automated ingest of commercials from Centaur catch servers.
Version 4.2 in the Episode product series provides support for VC-1, HDV, IMX and WMA Pro audio formats and the new audio codec supports 5.1 sound encoding. When used with Apple's Intel Xserves, the new product provides real-time HD encoding in a clustered environment.
