Telestream Debuts MAPreview at NAB

Telestream plans to release MAPreview, a workflow automation product for the capture, organization, search and review of multiple live video feeds, at NAB. It is the first product offering based on the company's Media Application Platform, which integrates Microsoft's Windows Media 9 Series codec and .NET framework.

Based on a preset schedule, MAPreview records multiple video feeds and captures metadata during ingest. Media are then encoded and stored in Windows Media Video 9 and users work with Microsoft Explorer to access, organize, search, review and share media. Telestream says the MAPreview simplifies conversions for the Web, ad-run verification and FCC compliance logging for applications ranging from digital surveillance, military events and sports analysis.

Telestream's MAP, a shared media system, automates media transcoding, metadata extraction and content exchange between digital systems.

"We see the capabilities in the MAPreview being valuable not only in the broadcast facility, where we have an extremely strong presence already, but also in a range of other markets," says Dan Castles, president/CEO of Telestream.

MAPreview will be on display at Telestream's booth (SU5661).
