Teamcast and Elcotech debut solutions for Russian mobile TV at NatExpo

Following Teamcast's debut of solutions for China's CMMB mobile TV standard, the company is turning its attention to Russia, another mobile TV market expected to show fast growth. At last month’s Moscow NatExpo 2008 show, Teamcast and its Russian partner Elcotech presented two new products for Russia’s digital and mobile TV operators: the RPX-1000 measurement probe and the Power4Cast flexible product platform.

Teamcast's RPX-1000 measurement probe monitors TV and mobile TV digital signal quality at the transmitter output. With real-time measurement of demodulation and transmission parameters, the device can be used for transmitter and repeater performance checks, reference measurement for new standards like DVB-SH and CMMB, and lab experiments.

The measurement probe supplies:

  • Real-time demodulation and measurements
  • High MER measurement performance
  • Support for emerging mobile TV standards: DVB-SH, CMMB, DVB-T and DVB-H
  • VHF, UHF and S-Band versions
  • Monitoring features at input level, shoulders and MER
  • Compact size for easy integration
  • Data for displaying modulation spectrum and constellation views

Power4Cast is Teamcast's new product implementation platform, designed to support multiple standards and functions on a single hardware core. The first product to use Power4Cast will be the Power4-T2 DVB-T2 modulator, which is scheduled for an early 2009 release. The modulator is based on TeamCast work with the DVB Project Group on the DVB-T2 standard, using BBC-developed and -licensed software.
