Streambox to release rugged Portable Video Transport system

At NAB2008, Streambox will announce the release of a fully rugged version of its Portable Video Transport system for mobile newsgathering, emergency response and armed forces operations.

The rugged encoder works in environments where extreme temperatures are the norm and exposure to adverse weather and rough handling is expected. It meets or exceeds MIL-STD-810F.

The video transport solution uses the Streambox ACT-L3 codec and advanced compression technologies used by news organizations worldwide. The system is integrated into one compact portable device supplied with a sturdy handle for easy transportation and features an extended battery life. The new video transport system measures 1.98in x 11.8in x 9.65in and weighs 6.8lbs.
