Comprehensive Video Group recently introduced
CAT-5E PLUS Cable Assemblies, which provides up
to 350MHz bandwidth for the transmission of high-speed
data, voice, and video signals. The cables meet
all Cat 5e TIA/EIA standards and utilize 24awg
stranded cable and enhanced performance connectors
with gold-plated contacts. Each cable is UL-rated
and finished in Comprehensive’s X-traflex
jacket.

ST300-DSR1K

DNF Controls has launched the ST300-DSR1K slow-motion
controller, developed to provide control over the
Sony DSR-DR1000 DVCAM stream-based hard-disk recorder.
The ST300-DSR1K allows users to mark cue points
on the fly and play back video instantly without
disrupting the record process—while providing operators
with VTR-like control. The solution also offers
DSR-DR1000 users a T-Bar.

New AVALONidm Features

EMC Avalon has announced the availability of several
new features for its AVALONidm data management solution.
AVALONidm now offers a file system interface for
storage of data via standard NFS or CIFS mounted-file
systems. The AVALONidm WAN Manager is also available,
which allows files to be transferred automatically
anywhere over the network. AVALONidm has also added
DVD RAM to its list of qualified storage devices.

Ho-Swap Drive

Granite Digital has begun shipping its SMART Hot-Swap
Backup IDE Drive System. The system has been combined
with the company’s SMART user interface—an LCD display
built into every SMART Hot-Swap Drive bay. S.M.A.R.T.
is an industry standard for monitoring performance
and reliability parameters in ATA hard disks. The
SMART Hot-Swap drive checks S.M.A.R.T. status periodically
during periods of hard-disk inactivity.

PLFFO

LEIGHTRONIX recently announced the PLFFO, a PLUS-BUS
interface that provides control of the FAST-FORWARD
Omega Deck from the LEIGHTRONIX TCD/IP network-managed
video system controller. The PLFFO supports playback
and recording using individual clip names. Server-specific
TCD/IP commands allow for seamless transition through
sequential clips. The user can also easily create
sequential play lists within a playback schedule.

PESA Switching Systems recently introduced its
new high definition and multirate digital routing
switcher, the Ocelot HD-MR. It can handle data
rates from 3Mbps up to 1.5 Gbps. A 1RU self-contained
system, it is available in 8 x 8, 16 x 8, and
16 x 16 standalone high definition video, audio
or audio/video configurations. The 16 x 8 system
expands to a 16 x 16 system by adding an 8-out
expansion module.

Connector FV

Photoflex has introduced continuous light connectors for Lowel’s Tota and DP lighting heads. The Lowel Tota head mounts onto Photoflex’s Tota Connector FV via a 5/8-inch post, and is positioned inside the softbox for maximum efficiency. Tota Connector FV will be accompanied by Photoflex’s new 2-1/2-inch Grip Swivel, which replaces the company’s previous aluminum swivel.

XRJAX & XRJAX 6040


XMULTIPLE recently released theXRJAX, a coax connector in a RJ45 form factor. The connector can come as adapters, wall jacks (keystone), splitters and cable assemblies. XMULTIPLE also released the XRJAX 6040, a 75 ohm self-terminating coax wall plate connector in a RJ45 format. By automatically having a 75 ohm load on the jack when the connector is unplugged, there is less signal reflections and RF noise feeding back into the cable system.
