Panasonic Broadcast has released a new line of dual-mode DVCPRO products for the production community. The product line includes the AJ-SD995A and AJ-SD930 studio editing VTRs and the AJ-SDC915 2/3 inch IT 3-CCD camcorder.
The products are switchable between 25Mbps ENG mode and 50Mbps 4:2:2 mode, offering 3:3:1 DV-based compression, 4:2:2 sampling and four 16-bit 48 kHz sampled channels uncompressed digital audio.
The AJ-SD995A and AJ-SD930 studio editing VTRs have an auto-format playback detection function for seamless playback of DVCPRO50, DVCPRO, DVCAM and DV format recordings. The 4RU-size VTRs record 92 minutes in 50 Mbps and have PAL recording and front-panel editing controls.
The AJ-SDC915 offers a low-smear 2/3-inch, 520,000-pixel IT 3-CCDs with a signal-to-noise ratio of 63dB (camera section), f13 (2000 lux) sensitivity and 750 lines of horizontal resolution.
