At IBC2004, Ortikon Interactive launched its Browser Emulator.

The Ortikon Browser Emulator can be used to preview work in the PC content authoring environment while a design is in progress.

The new tool is a WYSIWYG application so the DTV display screen will appear exactly like that of the designer’s PC. Content can be transferred directly from PC to DTV. The Ortikon Browser Emulator eliminates the need to transfer content from one application to another. Until now, verifying the functioning and layout of every change to content required a site to be transferred from the PC to the real DTV environment.

The wider the site, the more often it needed to be transferred. Differences in resolution and colors between the two environments were particularly troublesome. The Browser Emulator eliminates those problems by offering a DTV browser for a PC.
