MediaFLO USA, a division of Qualcomm, is now using an Omneon Spectrum media server from Omneon Video Networks to support FLO TV operations. MediaFLO is using a multichannel, fully mirrored server system to accommodate ingest, delay and play-out of content for FLO TV’s live channels. The Spectrum server also handles play-out of interstitial material.

FLO TV’s Spectrum server incorporates Omneon’s ProBrowse system for creating proxies on material on all channels for viewing on desktop computers by the FLO TV production team.
