Omneon Video Networks has debuted a suite of software tools to control its Spectrum server system and manage elements within an Omneon-based environment.
The MediaControl suite includes PlayTool, RecordTool and TransferTool that control media playout, ingest and management. PlayTool allows users to assemble a list of clips and schedule back-to-back playout of the clips from an Omneon system; RecordTool allows system operators to schedule the recording of clips on a regular, repeating basis or as a one-time event, and TransferTool is an FTP control utility that allows the user to view, copy, transfer and manage media that is stored within the Omneon Spectrum.
