New Infinity Camcorder Among New Grass Products at Thomson Booth

Thomson will spotlight several new products at NAB, including a new Thomson Grass Valley Infinity Digital Media Camcorder, expanded capacity for its REV PRO media and new features to its Ignite automated production system.

The Infinity DMC 1000/20 offers faster and more extended recording capability via the new REV PRO XP and ER Media. Thomson has also improved the reliability and single-operator functionality of its Thomson Grass Valley Ignite SD and HD integrated production systems with the introduction of several new operational efficiencies. The new Thomson Grass Valley Ignite IQ software adds more automation capabilities to speed up the process of entering production data, and managing resources.

Thomson also will introduce Version 4.6 of Edius Broadcast, which includes new functionality based on the JPEG2000 codec used in the Thomson Grass Valley Infinity DMC, allowing multilayer editing of EFP-quality HD content. New additions to the Thomson Grass Valley Aurora news-editing platform also will be on display that target HD news content for on air, online and on-the-go consumption.

Thomson will launch the ADVC-HD50, which converts uncompressed HDMI HD video and audio to the HDV format and outputs the signal via FireWire for use in any HDV-compatible nonlinear editor. Also on display will be the Thomson Grass Valley LDK 8000 SportCam, a slow-motion camera that captures true progressive HD images, natively, in multiple formats and frame rates.

Thomson also will unveil its ContentShare2 media asset and workflow management system at NAB. It tracks media from ingest to play-out and instructs traditional broadcast and IT-centric systems on when and how to process and distribute these clips.

Thomson will be at Booths SL2120, SL106, N914.
