Mobility Super Session to Explore New Devices, Opportunities

The visionary idea of receiving content anywhere inspires the April 15 Super Session, “Redefining Mobility: New Devices, New Opportunities.”

The 90-minute session slated for 10:30 a.m. to noon features a keynote from the director of Intel’s technology lab followed by a panel of executives and experts.

Hot questions dominate the agenda for the Super Session: What does the mobile future look like? Has mobile technology kept up with our daily lives? Can technology make life simpler by delivering what we want, when and where we want it? What are the opportunities for content creators and distributors! Which strategic partnerships are the most likely to succeed?

Kicking off the morning session will be a keynote address by Dr. Kevin Kahn, Intel senior fellow and director of the Intel Communications Technology Lab. He will offer a technical view of the current industry trends for wireless communications and the main challenges ahead for the next generation of convergent mobile devices.

Khan’s talk will set the tone for the 11 a.m. executive panel, moderated by Rick Ducey, chief strategy officer of the BIA Financial Network, focusing on how content creators and distributors can work together to maximize mobility opportunities.

Panelist include Brandon Burgess, chairman and CEO of Ion Media Networks and the independent Ion Television Network; Gary Gannaway, founder and CEO of WorldNow; Jason Hirschhorn, president of the Sling Media Entertainment Group; Tara Maitra, vice president and general manager of programming for TiVo; and David Wertheimer, executive director of the Entertainment Technology Center at the University of Southern California.
