L'Équipe 24/24 to shows off NETIA-based digital media workflow

L'Équipe 24/24, a leading French sports news media company, is now showing its NETIA-based archiving and workflow management system. L'Équipe 24/24 have implemented NETIA software to streamline the use of audio and video across radio, TV, Web and other new media platforms. Today's multimedia organizations need to be equipped to repurpose and distribute file-based assets across any current or new platform. The flexibility and high interoperability of the NETIA Manreo media asset management (MAM) platform are key to establishing an archiving and repurposing workflow tailored to such operations.

L'Équipe 24/24 manages new media for the L'Équipe TV sports news channel, the company's Web site (L'Équipe.fr) and the RTL-L'Équipe digital radio station. As a whole, the company has a collection of more than 10,000 videotapes, as well as still images and newspaper and magazine articles that document a variety of sporting events dating back to 1920. The company has deployed NETIA's Manreo Hypercast Warehouse MAM platform and the new NETIA Workflow Engine automation system, along with a Quantel editing platform and Sinequa search engine, to enable a seamless exchange of media between the edit platform and archive system. The resulting system allows archivists to enrich ingested material with metadata and provides journalists with an intuitive and consistent interface for image, text and video searches.

Hypercast Warehouse interfaces with acquisition, production, automation and storage applications to manage audio, video and images in all file formats (MXF, XDCAM, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV, etc.). The NETIA Workflow Engine automates all of the powerful archiving features found within Hypercast Warehouse, in turn streamlining the overall workflow, saving time and preventing human error. Direct access to media from the desktop adds further convenience and efficiency to this workflow.
