KFVS-TV turns to Omneon, Sundance Digital for ingest, storage, playout

Raycom Media's KFVS-TV Channel 12, a CBS affiliate serving Cape Girardeau, MO, and Paducah, KY, has deployed an Omneon Spectrum media server system with Sundance Digital's FastBreak Automation for ingest, storage and playout of syndicated programming, recording and play-to-air of commercial and promotion material.

The new Omneon and Sundance systems at KFVS also support multicasting at Raycom UPN affiliates WQWQ and WQTV.

The Spectrum system at KFVS features six input and six output ports and 1.7TB of storage capacity for about 360 hours of material. The FastBreak system combines SQL-based database management with frame-accurate control of the Spectrum server along with the facility's switchers, routers and peripherals, providing complete control over the broadcast transmission process for KFVS, WQWQ and WQTV.
