Kaltman Creations introduces RF spectrum analyzer

Kaltman Creations has added the Spectran HF4040, a low cost, handheld RF spectrum analyzer, to its product line. The unit addresses channel selection, interference identification, RF system monitoring, testing and exposure limit functions. It sports an operating frequency range from 10MHz to 4GHz, making it perfect for analyzing VHF, UHF and 2.4GHz environments.

Kaltman Creations calls the HF4040 a true RF spectrum analyzer — unlike RF scanners that allow for missed intermittent interference, slow scanning and aliasing. In addition to the HF4040’s standard frequency sweep readings and signal strength readouts, the unit features display markers that show the three strongest peaks and their associated frequencies during each sweep. There is also a zoom feature, allowing the user to narrow the frequency span down to 100KHz. The HF4040 will also perform extended data logging and long-term peak hold recording.

The HF4040 package includes an aluminum carrying case, SMA full range antenna, batteries and a charger that doubles as an AC adaptor. Also included is PC software for enhanced visual monitoring, a HyperLOG 700MHz to 2.5GHz precision directional antenna and a mini tripod stand. The unit ships with 10 programmable hot keys pre-configured by Kaltman to address the most popular RF bands in the U.S. The company also offers additional directional antenna options.
