International Panel to Discuss DTV Transitions

An international panel of experts will come to NAB2007 to examine and assess the related marketing campaigns in countries that have undergone, or are nearing a transition, from analog to digital television.

The International Super Session, "The Global Picture on DTV Deployment," will be moderated by NAB President and CEO David K. Rehr. It's part of the Broadcast Regulatory and Legislative Conference at NAB2007.

The session will feature broadcast representatives, government officials and DTV experts who will discuss the successful strategies behind various DTV marketing initiatives.

Panelists will include Pierre Helsén of Sweden DTV Kommissione; Sebastian Loudon of Rundfunk und Telekom Regulierungs in Vienna, Austria; Lim Chin Siang of the Media Development Authority in Singapore; Keith Smith of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in the United Kingdom; and Jonathan Collegio, vice president for the DTV transition at NAB in Washington, D.C.

The panel discussion, sponsored by the Media Development Authority of Singapore, takes place in room N250 of the Las Vegas Convention Center, from 4-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
