Harris has released enhancements to its NEXIO family of video servers. New features include direct file import of both GXF (SMPTE 360M) and Avid MediaStream MPEG files, which allows NEXIO to import content from all MediaStream video servers and media archives.
NEXIO servers can also handle MXF file exchange, which enables interoperability with Omneon and SeaChange servers, as well as the Panasonic P2 DVCPRO25/50, DVCPRO HD and AVC-Intra and Sony XDCAM formats. The servers use a virtual file system mechanism that separates the content from the wrapper. Broadcasters can view the content in a variety of wrapper types and conveniently import and export files from the server system in their selected wrapper type.
