Dolby to Showcase New Tech for Managing Loudness at NAB2006

Dolby Laboratories Inc. will showcase its latest broadcast technology at NAB including two new products: The Dolby DP600 program optimizer and Cat. No. 561 Dolby Digital Plus OEM encoder module.

The Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer is an intelligent file-based audio loudness analysis and correction system. It can automatically normalize the loudness of all its user's file-based programming and commercials without impacting the original dynamic range. The new Cat. No. 561 Dolby Digital Plus OEM encoder module is designed to be integrated into audio and video products from third-party manufacturers. It offers real-time, multistream, and multichannel encoding for Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus formats.

The company will also demonstrate its new Dolby Media Producer, Dolby E and Dolby Digital for HDTV program production and distribution, Dolby Pro Logic II for HD Radio, and Dolby Digital Cinema.

Also at NAB2006, Dolby will participate in panel discussions and host "Metadata Made Simple," a twice daily booth seminar that will focus on best practices for setting metadata when working with Dolby Digital and Dolby E.

Dolby will be in Booth SU2923.
